I have a new venture! Come read about exploding rats (though if you've been here a while you've already seen that one), and see me get my just rewards for my exemplary mothering.
'Scuse me, Irreverent...this is off topic (at least of this thread), but references your Fed 18 post. The one where you were reflecting on passive-aggression in the case of someone who didn't like being corrected for having been inconsiderate--or at least for having decided that her own needs took precedence over someone else's.
It sounds like the woman who'd written the blog got a lot of support for being 'right', and the 'corrector' 'wrong'. I'm curious if there were any responses that pointed out the elephant in the room: "Maybe you shouldn't have parked there; maybe you should have knocked on the door and asked if the owner minded, maybe you should drop by and write a note of apology..."
I've been mystified before by the degree to which this happens, that people expect to be able to do what they want unchallenged and get all hurt when they are.
Sorry to place this here--I just wasn't sure if you'd be notified if I posted below your original post; I'm new to blogging.
Yes, she got a lot of support. One or two people did point out the elephant, very gently. I can't remember what the response of the other commenters was, whether they were reviled or merely ignored, but they certainly weren't heeded, of that I'm sure.
Yes, I saw your comment. I have comments set to come into my email, but I couldn't respond by email, as is my habit with comments made on older posts, because you don't have an email address on your profile. So it turns out that conversation by comments is an effective way to proceed, in the circumstances!

Oh, and I go by "Laura" here. The "Irreverent" made me laugh. Kind of like being "counter-clergy" of some sort! Heh.
